Dream Board

Have you heard this quote? "What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?"
Robert H. Schuller

Have you ever sat down and really thought about what you want in life? It is so easy just to live the day to day and let the world and the chaos decide how we spend our life. What if you took the time to make a list of goals and things you wanted to accomplish and then made a plan to do it? How different would your life be if you designed it?

One of the easiest and most visual way I have found to design your life is by creating a Dream Board. You can get out the glue, magazine and scissors or use one of the many online collage makers.
I used PicMonkey.  Here's what mine looks like:

My dream list:
1. Well adjusted/bright/HAPPY children
2. Be in a workout video
3. Control my Crohns through diet and exercise and prove that a mom of 2 can be super fit, work and enjoy life
4. A happy and long marriage (just celebrated 11 years)
5. Travel the world (Panama down, a million more places left to see)
6. Have a successful fitness coaching business as a Team Beachbody Coach from home and be able to quit my day job (hey, my boss keeps asking if I am really going to return after this baby arrives, might as well make that come true)
7. Pay off house (our only remaining debt)!!!
8. Be a more patient and loving mom (struggling here big time)
9. Get certified in nutrition

"Commitment is doing the thing you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you" Darren Hardy
"It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end."  Ernest Hemingway
"A year from now you may wish you had started today."  Karen Lamb

So what is on your list?
I would love to see your boards or lists.
Ready?
Go!
Today's Stats:
24 weeks, 3 days Pregnant
Workout: 20 minutes on the Arc Trainer and 1 set of heavy dumbells (12 reps) for upper body (bicep curls, tricep rows, shoulder press and chest press)
Vegan Salad. I call this Totally Random Monday Salad:
cabbage, carrots, orange/red/yellow sweet peppers, tomato, avocado, and Four Leaf Balsamic dressing (store bought...had a sick kid yesterday and never made it to the store)

    1. Posting them is a way to remain accountable I guess. Just having real dreams and goals that you are working for is great though.

  5. I've never done anything like this before. I have thought about doing something like this and have been encouraged on occasion. But it hasn't happened yet. What would I do? You know, I 'm not sure. My goals are constantly changing. There is still a part of me that one day would really love to star in a musical or have a career in music, but I don't know if that will ever happen. It's one of those dreams out there, but I don't know how committed I am to it any more.

    1. Dreams can definitely change and there is nothing wrong with that. Pick something and enjoy the ride. You never truly know where you will end up, but having a place to start is nice.

  6. Really appreciated your board. My family is the most important thing to me, and we all get to travel the country for the work we do...so I have everything I could already desire. May blessings to you and your family!

  10. It would take more time than I have here to think about what I would place on my dream board. One thing I know for sure is that my number one thing would be to be happy every day. What I might have have placed on my board when my children were young is different than what I would want to do today. I have always wanted to learn to play piano and I guess I would want to get back to riding a bicycle. Your post has set me thinking.

  11. LOOOVE your dream board! Looks like you are well on your way to achieving your goals. Like you, mine include travel and enriching the life of my kids. Also aspire to open my own yoga studio and franchise it, learn to play an instrument and take cooking lessons internationally :)

  12. I completed a board this last January. It's a great exercise to think through what you want to accomplish in the coming year. I'm excited to revisit it in a year to see what I have accomplished. Good luck with your goals this coming year!

  13. Your dream board is a fantastic idea and made me smile.
I too have Crohn's and can see hope through a healthy lifestyle that includes being brave enough to give my some things in order to gain quality of life. This post is encouraging for a fellow Crohnnie.
    Bless you :-)

  15. A Dream Board.. I wish I had done that years ago. I do think I have accomplished 75% of what I would want. I need to work on the other 25% starting today.

I am glad you are so smart to make your plans now and have done so much so far. I wish you well.

  16. I am not a list person and never have been. This collage idea is great. I have six children and twelve going on thirteen grandchildren. I will pass this on. I would love for my family to be goal oriented.

  17. I've never done a dream board but now I want to. Mine would include a long, happy marriage, smart and happy children, travel, being fit, and achieving success in my online business. Good luck with your goals!

  18. At this point my goals are: to have a successful business, to be in love, and to be secure in my life.

  19. Thank you for this reminder! It is very important to have a visual and write out specific goals. You have my wheels turning. Now, I have to get busy with my board for the rest of the year! The key to a quick manifestation is being as specific and detail-oriented as possible listing specific locations, titles, dates, etc. Vagueness does not really work with this concept. Love it!

  29. I have heard about Dream Boards a number of times and have never done one. Doing a digital board is a great idea. What would be on mine? Figure out how to be a paid WAHM and be successful, have a healthy, happy pregnancy leading to a healthy, happy child (thinking about #2), of course a happy marriage, healthy, happy children, take LO wo Disney World, hubby & I take a cruise to AK.

  30. I have a dream board, but mine is the traditional large piece of cardboard variety with magazine clippings adorning it. It's a long list and I want it all! Think I might head off to picmonkey now and make one as a screen saver for my laptop. :)

  31. I don't think my goals/dreams are specific enough to really make a dream board. I just want to be happy. I want my kids to be happy to... and that's doing whatever makes them that way. I know that people change a lot through out their lives, so I don't have a specific definition of what will make me happy... it may change tomorrow. :)

  32. Neat idea. Helps to have your "whys" where you can be reminded of them. I'll share when I finish mine.

  34. Dream boards are really popular. Pinterest has become my personal dream board. I like it because it's electronic and easy to keep up with. I'm not the best with it comes to manual / paper things.
